Meeting Minutes

Time and Place: November 14, 2006 – 7:00pm Mutt BBQ South Highway 14 Greer South Carolina.

7:06 – Commander John Lynn called meeting to order.
7:07 – LT Commander Mark Adkins and Commander Dennis Crocker of Jamison Camp were present and recognized by Camp Commander John Lynn.

7:08 – Commander John Lynn led Pledges.

7:09 – Ray led prayer.

7:10 – LT Commander JD Edwards read the Charge.

7:11 – Commander Lynn announced new members Buddy Earl Clay and Stephen Dale Wilson and they took the oath of membership and were welcomed into the SCV and Camp. – Their ancestors Samuel W. Clay and Sidney Holling.

7:18 – Commander Lynn read a letter from Dr. Griffin from 26 years ago about the disparagement of the Southerner in the media.

7:29 – Adjutant Waddell presented the proposed Camp Constitution.

7:34 – Camp Constitution was approved.

7:37 – John Lynn was re-elected as Camp Commander.

7:39 – Robby McIntyre was elected as 2 LT Commander.

7:41 – Joel Mills was elected as Chaplin and Historian.

7:43 – Lee/Jackson Banquet - Jamison Camp co-hosting the banquet was mentioned by Commander Lynn that this coming the Jamison Camp will be hosting. Speaker, Location and other matters were discussed.

7:45 – Commander Crockett of Jamison Camp spoke about the banquet and the rededication of the Wade Hampton Monument on Sunday November 19 at 3:00pm. He also spoke about the Old South Christmas in Abbeville the first weekend in December and of Wade Hampton’s Birthday celebration.

7:57 – Michael Brown mentioned the need to lobby for December 20 to be a state holiday.

8:03 – Commander Crockett offered to help the Camp with a Christmas Parade.

8:14 – LT Commander Edwards asked all members to bring someone to our December meeting.

8:16 – Ray mentioned the summer youth camp and asked about possibly funding someone to attend. Ray also asked about gun shows and raffles of a gun.

8:20 – Chaplin Joel Mills closed in prayer

8:21 – Camp sang Dixie

After meeting Commander John Lynn appointed Barry Lynn to the position of Assistant Adjutant.

5. Commander John Lynn – told camp that Ray McNeely would acting Chaplain as to the fact that Buck Hitt has left the camp and went back to the 16th in Greenville.

We also talked about ideas for the camp to raise funds and get new members.

February Meeting

Jack Marlar our SCV Field representative will be our featured speaker at our February Meeting. He will be speaking on Southern Heritage Today. Being it will be Valentine Day he will also speak of Love Letters from the Hunley.

We will also be presenting a Certificate of Appreciation and a Check to Dr. Joseph Pipa.

Lee-Jackson Banquet


The Lee-Jackson Banquet was held on January 28 at the Lyman Lake Lodge with a turn out of around 60 people. There was good food and door prizes. With special guest speaker Dr. Joseph Pipa who spoke on Robert E. Lee and Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson. A good time was had by all who attended.
